Introduced around 2005–2006, the Cartier Santos 100 XL Chronograph (Ref. 2740) was born from the success of the 2004 Santos 100 collection — created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Cartier’s first pilot’s watch from 1904. This bold chronograph embodied Cartier’s entry into the era of oversized luxury sports watches, designed to stand alongside icons such as the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore and the Panerai 44 mm models that defined the early 2000s watch trend.

The Santos 100 XL Chronograph perfectly balances Cartier’s timeless elegance with muscular proportions and technical precision. Its robust 51 mm x 41 mm stainless-steel case, distinctive exposed screws, and curved square bezel make an unmistakable statement on the wrist, while the automatic chronograph movement ensures reliable performance.

Condition:
This piece is in excellent 95% mint condition. The case remains in perfect shape, with only light hairlines visible on the bezel from gentle wear — lightly polished to maintain its character. Unfortunately, the original box and papers are no longer present, but the watch speaks for itself in both presence and preservation.
